Jordanian teenager Mousa Shana’ah emerged victorious in round 2 of the Oman International Amateur Golf Tour after carding rounds of 75-75-71 at La Vie.
The Dubai resident, who represented Jordan at last year’s Asia Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, started the final round of the 54-hole World Amateur Golf Ranking tournament two shots adrift of Khaled Al-Qunaibit, but battled against the tricky conditions to pip the Saudi by one stroke.
“Despite the challenging weather conditions and fierce competition from the talented players in the field, I was able to find my rhythm and stay focused and steady. It was great to come out on top and win in such a good atmosphere. The weather made it tough for sure and tested everyone’s resilience,” said Shana’ah.
Abdulla Kalbat, the UAE’s youngest WAGR ranked player, finished a shot behind in second place alongside Ali Al-Sakha, Al-Qunaibat and Richard Fish, who carded a tournament low 68 in the final round.
